Trans teaching...... programing

I guess I have spent too many years with a manually rowed gearbox.

I recently put a H&S tuner on with a DOC/DPF and a 5 inch sewer pipe. the truck runs like a scalded dog but the trans is.....

Is there a program out there to teach the trans to think like an automated manual? My Mercedes has an auto tranny, and it shifts up and down all by it self without unlocking the torque converter untill almost stopped or during hard acceleration in lower Rpms. My rig runs thru 1, 2, &3 by 20mph and then takes forever to make the jump to 4th. The lock up program with the H&S is set to 45mph lowest available and works OK just lowered the factory lock up from stock. Tow/Haul is OK too but it hunts for the right gear sometimes or holds the gear it is in for way too long.

The truck has 52K on the clock and is new to me. I am thinking a trans filter and fluid change is in the near future. I really do not want to blow this rig up just yet.....

PS be fore you all ask, I drive like an old lady and am not looking to make a drag racer or sled puller out of this thing. A trip to Prudhoe Bay and back is in the future a (12K run), withthis current shifting pattern I think I would go nuts at teh end of that run.

No race format, just firm shifting.

try doing a relearn and see if that fixes it.also im not sure what tune you are on but you could try switching tunes and doing a relearn and see if that helps.if this doesnt fix it shoot them an email.they usually respond pretty quick.

I like the race shifting a lot better than the firm, if you can deal with some strong shifting.

First two days on same truck and Mini as yours, my tranny shifted harshly. I changed to Mercon LV and new filter. This may sound ridiculous, but the past week, it is shifting considerably better. I am on race mode. Love'n my "new" '08 F-450))))
