Advice, I want the SCT touch screen tuner.

Ok Looking to tune up the New 2010 6.4 liter, Just a mild increase, I'm not happy with it pulling the boat... it weighs 20 grand..Is anyone using the new SCT yet, and can anyone give me a hand with finding one at a good price...
I'm looking to purchase this soon, but would like to talk with someone knowledgable first.

Your Boltman...

+1 for SCT. Get in touch with Eric at Innovative Diesel Performance. I currently have the SCT TSX with Eric's Xtreme Tune Package and have been very pleased.

Ive heard some bad things about battery life, and the wireless controller and TSX connecting.. I was recommended not once, but numerous times not to go with the TSX, but rather go with the livewire and get a Edge Insight CTS for gauges

Can't it just be wired on ignition also using the cord?

Yeah, I have one of the first TSX's. I haven't made a mount for it yet, so I don't use it as a gauge set. If it has a connection issue, I just hit the reconnect button and it works. I always plug in the power cord while tuning, so I can't comment about battery life. I don't see why you couldn't hardwire it in. That's what I will do if I make a mount for it.

I went from an Innovative tuned Livewire to an Innovative tuned TSX.
1.) It has a couple of important features missing that the Livewire had but they just finished a Firmware Update for them. It's supposed to resolve a number of issues and provide more new functions. They are testing it right now and should be available shortly. If this patch works, I'll say it's an awesome unit.
2.) I stay plugged in too because the battery does drop quickly.
3.) SCT told me that you cannot hardwire the communications! That said, I have had almost NO communication issues with the wireless!

Hope this helps and, if I remember, I'll update once the Update is loaded and tested on my truck!

I know that this is an old post but having issues with the bluetooth losing connection with the dongle at the end of my tune upload and freezes up. I have to return it back to stock and try again and get the same results. Any help would be appreciated.
