Clutch?

I have an 08 6.4 with a 6 speed manual and need a new clutch, i do have a programmer on the truck so i would like a clutch that can hold more power than the stock one as i plan on getting a spartan programmer soon. Anyone know where to get a good clutch?

Did you try South Bend ? Im looking at upgrading my clutch too but want to hear first hand from someone with a tuned 6.4.

not yet, still havent found a price. And not sure if im going to as the HP rating is only 450, im not positive but i was under the impression that, with the spartan tuner, the truck is making way more power than that. Correct me if im wrong please as i would love to know that this clutch will hold the power of spartan tuner because my stock clutch slips out constantly just from the Edge Race programmer.

I recommend doing at least a South Bend 3600lb dual disc. Some guys even run the 3850, but I don't think it's necessary for a daily driver.

So I bought a clutch from VALAIR and had it installed at my local shop. I completed the 500 mile break in period and in that period only drove with my tow tune. I gave it some throttle a few times and it felt great so it was time to load one of my higher horsepower tunes. No different than my stock clutch, just cruising at 40mph or so if I give it quarter throttle it slips real bad! I told valair every thing done to my truck and the power its making and I bought the clutch that they recommended. This clutch cant even hold at part throttle. I am very disappointed as I have over $1600 out of pocket for this. I dont think valair did this on purpose, I just think they underestimated the power of my truck.

That's exactly what im worried about, i still have yet to replace it because im worried ill be wasting my money if its just going to keep slipping. anyone have experience with the southbend clutch rated to 500hp?
