H&S Problem

Hey guys, I downloaded "hot ##### and "50MPH" lock up last night. The motor files seem to transfer fine but my lock up speed is right around 62MPH. So I decided I would download "mild" and "50MPH" lock up this morning and reflash the truck to see if that would help and I still have the same problem 62MPH lock up speed. Its driving me nuts, can you guys offer me any insight?

If you have a Mini Maxx, get yourself a Micro SD to USB adapter. Use that to plug the SD card into your computer instead of going through the Mini Maxx head unit. We have seen communication problems with the Mini Maxx as the adapter, and this will ensure you are not missing some information in the transfer.

Also, make sure you are transferring individual files onto the card, not the folders. The H&S Products can only find what is on the Main directory of the SD card, nothing can be in folders.

^Thanks for the reply Bentley, I have the black maxx and I am plugging my micro SD directly into my computer using the card reader port. I also transfered the individual files rather than the folder.

The first time I transfered the new transmission files the computer did not ask me to replace any files, do you think that could have an effect on the problem.

Did you update the firmware on the Black Maxx before re-loading the tuning? I would also try a couple other lock-up speeds and see if they make a difference. If they do not, you have something going on during the transfer/ update process.

^I did do the firmware update, or at least I think I did it properly, I followed the instructions on the website to the T. There isnt a different place I need to go in order to download a new firmware for my Black Maxx is there?

I will give the 55MPH lock up a try tonight. Also, should it make a difference on the throttle position as to the given lock up speed. i.e. it will only lock up at 50MPH if im at WOT?

The Lock-up speed listed on the website is designed as a light throttle (almost no load) lockup. Lockup under higher load conditoins will be dependent on many many variables and can vary greatly.

Thats what I had figured on but wasnt sure. I will give a different speed setting a try and see how it goes. Thanks for all the help Bentley, its greatly appreciated.

hey powerstrokedub, how does your truck sound with the 5" exhaust? you have a muffler or not? thanks!!

Yeah I have 5 inch straight pipe, no muffler, it sounds great IMO. I have very little drone at freeway speed and it flat out screams from 2500-3000 rpm. I almost wish it was a tad louder.
