Why not a Bullydog?
I am fairly new to these forums and I have been reading thread after thread touting Spartan, SCT, and H&S as top three for tuning. I have done some exploring on the products websites, and found that the H&S Mini Maxx is EXACTLY the same as the Bullydog GT. I am not disputing the obvious regarding Spartan or SCT, or even the Mini Maxx from everything I have read.
I have owned a 2006 F350 with the 6.0, put a Bullydog Triple Pup in it and drove the bag off it for 100000 miles, with absolutely no problems. Except for it getting stolen ![]() I currently have a Bullydog GT, and it works great. I am going to upgrade, but would like to hear opinions and/or facts about why not a Bullydog? |

Ok this thread is like beating a dead horse... But anyway people choose Spartan SCT and Mini Max because they are Custom TUNED and they can get much more power out of a custom tune since bully dog keeps it within in a REALLY safe range with the correct supporting mods an SCT or Spart or Mini Max will rip the doors off of bully dog and with the 6.4 you dont need hardly any supporting mods

^^ what he said. plus some tuners and bully dog has taken tolls on transmissions on certin trucks.
but custom IS the best way since its for YOUR truck. bully dog doesnt know what truck you have so they are also generic. one to work for all. |

Like above generic. The custom tuners are not in the media as much as say Banks, Bullydog, Edge, etc. which is why a lot of people run them.
On the 6.0's the only tuner I liked and had other than a custom SCT from innovative was an Edge, it worked great for me, but I am not into the all out power either, used mostly for towing. After getting a tuned SCT from Innovative for the 6.0, that truck was a different animal, even though most of the time it was on the tow tune. Much better shifting, power, etc. Now on the 6.4, I would never think to get an off the shelf programmer, reason is being generic and most dont have tranny tuning and the ones that say they do are not what I would call sufficient with these trucks. I would stick with the main (3), Innovative, H&S or Spartan. Teh truck will like you better. I am an innovative fan so I would suggest Eric, he is good for both ends of the spectrum, towing and high power tunes. I have not tried a Spartan or H&S so I cant compare, just from what I have read. If they do cool. But I would be willing to bet it is not going to be near Innovative, H&S or Spartan in times or HP or ability to make the power.
