God help me I want a tuner.
I have always been scared of these things when it comes to diesel, never even thought of using one on my 6.0. Always worried about engine/tranny longevity or one of the two just blowing apart. I had originally only wanted to straight pipe my 6.4, but seems like everyone enjoys their truck more when it is tuned. Not sure what brand to go with. My main concern is ease off instillation. I'm not looking for any huge power gains that might damage my truck but something noticeable would be nice. I have done some of my own research and like the looks of the H&S Black or minni b/c I do not have to re-install the dpf sensor. Any other suggestions would be very helpfull, mainly just looking for something that is easy to install and won't hurt my truck and will allow dpf removal. Also why would I want to turn off the egr system, I see that as an option on some of the tuners. Not really worried about cost, want to get what's best for my needs, be nice to keep it under 2,000 though, lol. Thanks

My biggest worry is the regen process. That cannot possibly be good. So much heat through the turbos is terrible. I personally have the spartan tunes up to 250 and love it. What ever you go with, you will like it, just the knowledge of knowing your truck will never regen is worth to money.

I have an 06 250 KR with the 6.0 and My personal opinion would be the hypertech max energy. My buddy with the same year truck got it and convinced me to get it, it's not a huge power upgrade but i was getting 28 MPGs runnin 70 MPH last night and i have 35's. But neither of us have had a problem out of anything with the tunner. Hope this helps

If your going to buy, buy Spartan, H&S, or SCT w/ Custom tunes.. Im a little bias but i really like my sct with erics tunes.. I bought mine for no real purpose other than to: get rid of dpf and regens, not worry about diesel fuel in the oil, way better fuel mileage, and to disable the egr.. Its nice to get 550+ miles out of a tank

You need to repost this in the 6.0 trouble forums. You will get some replies. I am going to delete the posts you have made here since they arent relavent to the topic at hand.

Now, there are a lot of tuners out there, so basically its up to you. How much do you want to spend? It would be advised to also do a DPF/DOC delete when you tune. There are a lot of spartan users here, some H&S, and SCT users too. I have the Edge Evolution Racing CTS tuner and love it. Lots of power/torque, and simple to install. I have had zero issues with this tuner too.
