I don't think it's going to "cap" anyone at 550 horsepower. I think that what is meant by that statement is they are going to use a single that will produce the same power as the stock turbo's with just a tuner, intake, and exhaust. You could definitely go beyond 550 horsepower with a good single and still be streetable. What I like about it is the fact that drive pressure drops. This eliminates the need to do an Elite EGR delete w/wastegate. You could probably get away with stock head bolts if you didn't go beyond a big tune.

Reducing the drive pressures and bringing EGT's back down under 1600 degrees on these larger tunes could really go along way with engine durability. The goal is to make a turbo that will offer more 'usable' horsepower.

And yes, this system would eliminate the need for an EGR/Delete Wastegate system and could really help with the reliability to an other wise stock motor

Damn 3-4k for going from twin to a single. I know it will be better for my engine but if I don't race mine I really don't see the point of dropping that much cash on it.

IMHO a non-vgt turbo on a truck in today's world, isnt acceptable unless it is a weekend project vehicle, especially when it is similar in flow to the stock setup.....

Wow, seems a certain tuner company may have been involved in the pricing.

(smileys added since they don't work at my office)

Since it is obvious who you are talking about I feel the need to respond. We have nothing to do with the pricing. We aren't even involved with the idea of it. I simply just have an interest in it. Maybe you should consider getting a life so you MIGHT stop bashing Spartan.
