Need for a TCM

Doing daily driving and controlling my right foot properly, is it required to have the TCM in conjunction with the Spartan tuner? NO TOWING!

Thanks
Sig

The tcm really helps on the higher tunes and locks the converter at 45mph like clockwork plus it does imrpove the shifting some. I have a job3 truck i hear they perform better on job1-2 trucks with the big tunes.

It is only recommended for Job 1 trucks that run the 310 tune often.

Sorry Jeff, "Job 1"? I see this nomenclature used and have meant to look it up but if you could save me the trouble, it would be much appreciated.

Also, just looking for an MPG increase. If it helps that, what % of the overall increase could be attributed to the TCM?

Thanks
Sig

job 1 means it was in the first group of production dates. you can google what those cutoff dates are. and the tcm is nice, but not exactly necessary. but if you want to stay on the safe side, i would definitely recommend it. and stroke4fun is selling his at a great price and he's a great guy to work with! shoot him a pm and i know he'll work with you.

Job 1 trucks are July 2007 and earlier build dates.
