Tuner/Programmer for a 2010 F3550 ???
I just got a 2010 F350 DRW. I am looking to gain better fuel economy.Does any one have any sugestions as to what tuner ,DPF delete and cold air intake I should use? My main concern is to get better milage with the every day driviing and also be able to tow my 14k lb camper ever so often.Do I need to change the exhaust .With the tuner and the delete kit?

For ease of install and other features I would say for with H&S.
Some will say Spartan, some will say H&S. Other will list various other tuners. Stuff from Bully Dog, Diablo, Superchips, etc. Do some reading, decide what works best for you. |

I would say Spartan tuner w/DPF/DOC delete pipe.....this will stop the fuel wasting and problem causing REGEN feature on your truck. Tie those two together with a Stage 2 si Cold Air Induction. All Spartan does is Ford, they are not the typical jack of all trades master of none company, they are Master of one (Ford 6.4 & new 6.7 diesels). Also their customer service is second to none and you can pickup the entire package bundle from Spartan. I am currently enjoying their 210 HP Tow Performance tune and getting a little over 20 MPG towing a two car trailer.

20 MPG towing? Is that hand calculated?

Honest to goodness, hand calculated my fuel gauge computer tells me 23mpg but it's an actual 20.2 - 20.8 mpg. I am very easy on her and don't really run many mountains. Mainly up and down the east coast the majority of that on I95 (pretty flat and mostly at or slightly above sea level). It would probably drop a few if I trekked around the rockies or high sierra's out west though. I did pickup an actual 6-7 mpg's when I installed tuner and dpf/doc delete. I drive about 100K a year in my business and I'm extremely aware of my #1 overhead expense (fuel) and I've reduced operating expense for fuel by about 35-40%.

Doing the delete is definitely the most difficult. Mainly because of the weight of the DPF/DOC. As long as you have tools available, a jack to relieve the weight of the DPF/DOC when lowering it down, and driveway/garage space, it isn't too bad of job. One person could complete it in a few hours (3-4). That is the air intake, DPF/DOC delete, and tuner. |

I'm running Spartan dpf/doc delete & S&B CIA, from Rudy's! The only problem I'm having is blowing intercooler tubes off but my diesel site boot kit should be here today! Ran the 210 tow tune on a 1400 mile round trip pulling a 19k trailer with no probs i never checked milage but I think it was @ 8-9 running 75-80 mph!
