Computer based tuning suites

Hey guys,

I have a buddy that just bought a 6.4 and he has experience with gas based computer tuning suites and wanted to know if there were any diesel based tuning suites on the market that are specific to the 6.4 so that he can do his own tuning.

So according to the support forum for his software suite he has for the chevies, they are close to releasing a ford version. We hooked his laptop up to the computer last week and he has about 45 different sensors that he can monitor at the moment with it but when he tried to link up to the computer it would not unlock.

So at the very least there looks like there is some good potential.

what's that sniper tuner that a lot of stang people do? I know thats one of them?

Diesel is a lot different than gas though, especially the 6.4. Let's hope your friend knows what he's doing

Theres sniper, SCT advantage,PHP Minotaur. Theres others as well

Are you talking about EFI Live?

Because EFI isn't even considering Ford support. They are focused on GM obviously, and rolling out the Cummins stuff (

I use SCT Advantage here on my 6.4L, truly not bad on the price for what you can do with it.

Ya, we found this one and was wondering if i could use my livewire to load up the modded tunes or if he needs to get a different tuning device.

can you pull the stock tune and play around with it?

The tuning software he has is HPTUners.
The Sniper doesn't support the 6.4 yet but int he forums they said this spring that they were 3 months away.

I would like to know more about the SCT Advantage though.
