Stock 6.4 tuners
Hi Guys, I would like to hear from those of you that have installed a tuner on a 100% stock 6.4 with the DPF intact.
I tow with my F450 and have no intention on removing my DPF, however this truck in a pig, no power and no fuel mileage. When you have a newer Chevy Suburban gas pot passing you like you forgot to start it, up a 5% grade pulling a 31' travel trailer and me with my 11'-6" truck camper something has to change! More power and a couple of miles per gallon would be nice, but from what I have read, the DPF would have to be removed. I have had the truck to three dealerships and all three say there is nothing wrong with it. Does anyone make a tuner for the 6.4 that will help a factory stock truck? Dan |

IIRC Spartan has tunes with the dpf on but not a good idea.

spartan also has a stock power dpf off tune! i just returned from a 1400 mile round trip towing a 19k trailer with the spartan 210 tow tune & absolutly loved it! as stated above I wouldn't recomend running dpf on tunes!

DPF-on tunes are not going to make a noticeable difference in mileage, if any at all. Power increase will be noticed on some tunes.....but that's it. And if your DPF is already plugged or blown through in stock form, adding a tuner will just make things worse.

I kind of thought it would be a waste of money, if the exhaust can't get out whats the point of putting on an intake or a tuner.
Thanks guys! |
