Cool Downpipe installation on a 6.4L

Ordering H&S 5 inch for my new 6.4, and I was just wondering from those of you who have done your own exhaust how difficult this is. Any tips you guys might have, or pictures.....thanks!

There are several post on here about this. Some of the suggestions are, disconnect the pipe from the turbo, pull it down and cut with a recip saw as high as you can. Another if you want to save the old is disconnect at both ends, unbolt and lift tranny to the drivers side. Once complete, have a couple of beers and let us know how it went.

Are you referring to installing a downpipe back exhaust, or are you installing a 4" downpipe along with your 5" downpipe back exhaust?

The H&S exhaust says downpipe back, but says it comes with a downpipe?

You must have gotten the 5 inch exhaust downpipe and back. It shouldn't come with a downpipe. A downpipe is 4 inches.

Unbolt the downpipe from the turbo. Pull it down as far as you can get it from underneath. Cut it has high up as you can. Most people cut it in the crimped section of the pipe.

is it hard to unbolt it from the turbo? and how do you get the aftermarket downpipe in there? just shove it up there and bolt it up? which downpipe do you recommend?
