EGR cooler removal

I am working on taking out my egr coolers because they are in the way for a intake elbow. I noticed that there are coolant lines running though the coolers I am wondering if you have to run a hose from the top to the bottom or if you can just plug them off and every thing will be fine??

hey I got a 2010 HD 6.4 had elete with waste gate installed .Removed egr completely and let me tell you it is a BIG difference. I got a 4 in turbo back ss exhaust no cat no dpf and a sct on performance. It is fun to drive and it gets. I started at 8 or 9 miles to a gallon Im at 15 or 16 now. It sounds great. I think I will install a afe cold air intake and see what difference that will make I just dont know if they make much difference for 425 bucks, also I paid 3000 for the elete egr delete installed and set up. Hope that helps you in your process

You could run a hose between the 2 coolant lines or just plug them. The EGR deletes we do come with plugs to cap off the lines completely.
