Water/Meth Injection

Haven't found all the information I wanted on this mod searching the boards...my questions are mainly: is it worth it as far as lowering EGT's and adding power? How is the mpg gain? is it safe? Thanks.

well safe depends on your mixture and other mods.mpg gain i cant imagine would be better than 3 but i dont know.but if you are looking to lower your egt's and get some power at the same time it is definitely worth it.best place to post these questions would be under the vendors forums under devils own

It really depends on your setup, but in most cases the power is noticeable. The mileage gain depends on how much meth you're injecting and EGTs depend on how much water. Marketed systems like Snow Performance's kits are perfectly safe for any diesel, the DIY route is obviously your own risk.

I have heard claims of valve stem wear caused by methanol. I would say a meth to water mix of 20/80 or 25/75 would be about how you would want it. I wouldn't use too much methanol. River City Diesel is the company who saw the valve stem wear. There are posts on here about it I believe. They are really old ones though.

I have meth and wish I never bought it. I don't tow that much so I never use it. I was gonna flip it on when I was dynoing to get a comparison and see how much power was added but the pump was seized up. go figure...

thanks for the advice O2...I doubt I'll do it. I'm thinking more along the nitrous route, small shot.

that will be better for power if that's what you are looking for. apparently a little safer too.

Yeah, it looks like I'll be going the small jet nitrous kit. Sold it because I was layed off when payments starting rolling in...bad timing. I'm getting married in 3 months, but I came out even for what I payed for it. I'm excited to have the 6.4L though...from what I read, they're beats.
