Spartan/KEM/Innovative D. SCT?

I'm sure this is beaten down question, but I've done some searching and couldn't find the exact answer I need. I'm about to buy an 08/09 PSD 6.4L, and I'm going to be buying an intake, exhaust and tuner soon. My question is what's the difference in each company's tuner. I want to be able to decide which is better for me by hearing all your opinions/experience with each tuner.

-Which company provides the fastest tune?
-Best tunes for towing?
-Most reliable(&fastest) tuner?
Best 'bang for the buck'?

H&S Mini Maxx is priced good and they go up to 250hp and all their tunes are free to download when they come out. Priced around $950 or so. Spartan cost more but their tunes go up to 310,350 right now --$1250

Thanks for the info...what does KEM and Innovative go up to? Is Spartan make the fastest tune, gas only?

If you're running gas I don't think any of the tunes will be fast

haha but in all honesty, all 3 tuners have out tunes that are very close in power/track times to my knowlege.

If you plan to go with a lot of gofast parts in the future that will require custom tuning I would go with either KEM or IDP as it seems they get you your custom tunes a bit faster.

Just to throw another wrench in the works. Spartan and Kem both use the same tuning platform for the 6.4

So you could use either companies tunes.

You could do the same with Innovative and KEM using the SCT as well.

But you would not be able to run Innovatives or spartans tunes on the same device.

Getting the blackmaxx limits you to running H&S's tunes only.


None of the above is a bad thing. It just brings forth more options

h&s also does free custom tunes.so if you dont like what ya get when you buy the tuner,call them and get exactly what you want for free.also check out this thread The Ultimate DPF delete SHOWDOWN!

Yes, that was a typo...I meant fuel only ha. As of today for the 6.4L, out of KEM, I.D., and Spartan; which company has the fastest tune? I really like the Dashdaq so I'll probably go with Spartan or KEM.

Fastest tune depends alot on the driver

I've gone 12.81@103 with our 310 race tune. 8.05@83.5 in the 1/8 mile.....which comes out to a 12.64 in the 1/4 mile. I run out of gear up top with 3.73 gears and 31.9" tall tires....which is why I went 12.81 when in the 1/4 with that 1/8 mile time.
