New to the 6.4...VERY interested in Spartan

Well, bare with me b/c I'm new. I know a decent amount about the SCT and what it can do for the 6.0 and I think what I know about that combo is what't confusing me. I know the preloaded tunes on the SCT are not the best for the truck, which is why most opt for custom tunes. So, I see people talk about the 13 tunes you get with the dashdaq and my question is why are those preloaded tunes fine for the 6.4? and why does it not need custom tuning?

Those 13 tunes are custom tunes

He just sells them as a package

They are strategy specific tunes, not just generic tunes to work on every truck. You can't load the same tune on a different truck. The tune you load is specific to your trucks transmission and engine strategy file.

So, when I get my dashdaq I hook it up, get my strategy, and then send it to whomever with spartan and they send me my 13 tunes? So it's still the same as I had to do with my 6.0

No sir. You plug in the tuner, it reads your strategy, and then the tunes for your truck will be available. The SD card comes with a LOT of tunes. Those tunes are for different strategies. All you have to do on our end is get set up with an account on the website. That will help you get tech support easier and also allows you to get any free updates we may have available in the future.
