spartan question

sorry if this has already been asked. i made it 19 pages back in this forum and couldnt find the answer. what makes the spartan harder to detect the other tuners? and would it be harder for a ford dealership to detect if a truck has been tuned if they dont run across alot of trucks that have crossed that line?

I'll post this up so you can read it. Maybe it will help you understand why we advertise as being undetectable. I will say that anything is detectable if time is taken to dig DEEP, but typically a tech won't dig.

Most Common Pre-Sales Questions - Will your tuner void my dealer warranty?

I can't believe I never came across that... I've been researching tuners and have been stuck between the H&S, Spartan and SCT w/ innovative tuning. The big contenders have been spartan and H&S, but I suppose keeing my factory warranty is worth slow tune downloads and vin lock.

check out spartan's website. pretty much whenever you tune a truck it throws a code. and spartan designed theirs where it bypasses this. and yes, if you take it to a dealership that doesn't ever really deal with tuned trucks, they will be less likely to look for it. plus it depends whether the dealership really even cares or not. i have a dealership close to home that said if they are slow enough, they dont care whats been done to the truck. they said if they dont have much to do, they dont care if the truck has had nos on it, they will still work on it.

Yeah, P1000, so what?

"I left the key on listening to the radio and the batteries went dead"

And that P167F? It's not very comprehensive. I don't think I've ever seen it set, regardless of the tuners I have come across. Bullydog, Edge, Superchips, Banks the list goes on. The only tuner I have ever seen cause problems has been a bully dog, and the codes it left were corrupted VID block codes, which leads me to believe the tune was interrupted, either by turning the key off, tuner became disconnected, corrupt flash file on the tuner, etc.

I'm not trying to be a dick about it, but if it comes down to it, there is a LOT of stuff going on behind the scenes that can be seen at an engineering level that will tattle on you if you've tuned on your rig.
