EGR Delete??
I am planning studs later in the year so I can safely run the 275 and 310 spartan tunes.
I am looking at deleting the EGR system and am pretty new to possible solutions. It concerns me that I can bolt is shut for $50 or it's $1500 to delete the whole set up. The large difference in price leads me to believe that there is a huge difference in what each system does. My friend used the plates and was claiming lower temps. Will the plates be all I need? I have no prob justifying the added cost. I always find that when you go cheap you just pay for it in the end thru repairs. Thanks alot guys. |

You basically have to pull the cab to do either one, so..... If you have the cash, do the full delete with the studs. It is not necessary to do any more than the block off unless you are trying to make a full-on drag truck or want the extra assurance. Lots of people run just with the EGR system turned off in their tuning and have no issues with it.

I don't recommend the plates because they send back pressure up, and back pressure is already an issue on these truck to begin with once the EGR valve is shut off with tuning. The best option to me is either the full delete with wastegate or an EGR cooler delete and CFM elbow. It also depends on where you plan to go with your truck.
