How much boost/ebp are you making, first of all?
Head gaskets MUST go through prior approval for warranty now, and they really don't see any 6.4 head gasket failures. |

From what I have read, you can do the stud's in your driveway by changing them out one at a time. This is only if you still have good head gaskets. Otherwise, it is a cab off procedure. I think someone posted it cost them around $2500 for parts and labor.

I know a million guys have done it, but in my opinion, when you take a bolt out of a head with a MLS head gasket under it, that gasket is junk. That is my opinion.
The Elite stud kit comes with instructions to do it both ways. b |

Can it be done and keep warranty?

If you did studs one at a time, and it kicked a gasket out shortly afterwards, I would imagine the answer would be no.
And a few guys at the dealer level would be upset that it has studs in it, and not warranty any engine failures. Me personally? I wouldn't care. But if I started tearing your truck apart for head gaskets and found studs and the original head gaskets, I probably wouldn't be a great deal of impressed, and we'd need to have a discussion about what went on there. You'd need to run it past your diesel tech at the dealer, and see what he says. As I said before, Me, personally? I would change the gaskets as well as installing the studs. Just for piece of mind. |

My head gaskets are still good, but was wanting to do the studs for extra ins. with the 310 tune. I have a job 1 truck, so I am scared to get in it good. Probably haven't been over 1/2 throttle with the 310. If I were to do it, I would do gaskets and all. What about ARP? I know the EGR delete/wastegate would void the warranty, but just wondered about the studs/gaskets.

my truck is at the dealership right now getting new hgs and im putting in elite studs and its being done under warranty. My truck puked coolant everywhere and i took the tech for a spin with all his equipment and i was pulling a car trailer with 3500lb car on it. did 0-100 and it puked hard. running spartan tunes. Theres a thread that i started on thedieselgarage heres the link
