oil color

Sorry, maybe this should go in the "general discussions"....

I changed my recently for the first time. Maybe a thousand miles ago? When I bought the truck, it had the dpf and everything on it as well as a Bullydog PMT. When I drained the oil, it was black as black could be. After reading some stuff here on the website, I learned that that was probably normal cuz of the regen cycle.

So between the time I bought the truck, and did the first oil change (1000 miles ago) I had installed the spartan and deleted the dpf/cat. No more regen.

I'm getting ready for a 3000 mile round trip to Pennsylvania, so I check the oil just to be proactive... Its getting pretty dark already. Is this normal for a diesel? I'm still kind of new to this stuff. And, not knowing what was in it prior to me buying it, I went ahead and put Mobil 1 SuperSyn in it. Not sure if that matters.

My question with out all of the BS was: "Will the oil in a diesel truck, with no regen, still turn black right away....?"

Thanks in advance. You guys are always a huge help.
