The tear down begins
Well my trucks been in the Ford dealership for about 2 months or so. Ive been hoping to get it warrantied but both ford and the dealership I took it to are against me. I thought I had a bad injector or busted turbo so I took the truck in after it started running really ruff. About a 2 weeks after I brought it in they called to tell me they were denying my warranty. I asked why and they told me because of my lift, wheels, tires, different trans pan, scratches on my exhaust pipe and shock, and a hose clamp on the ccv to intake hose. I appealed it and they told me I had to pay for tear down so we argued with ford and they offered to split it so I gave the go ahead. Turns out its a cracked piston. Injectors seemed to be fine and the piston and walls seem to be fine except for a hairline crack across the middle of the piston inline with the crank. I had 4 or 5 bad spots on the gaskets. It took a while but they just called to deny it. There is no paper work, no nothing. They havent even told me why its been denied. Im pretty sure that the coolant tried to hydrolock the #1 piston and it ended up cracking it instead. Is there anything else I can do?
I went and got the chasis seperate on a flat bed and then went back and got the cab. Trucks in the garage ready to be torn down. Gonna get started tomorrow on it. Sendin the rails, HPFP, and turbos in for upgrades in the morning. Have to order the pistons once I get it out and check damage. Going with studs, egr delete w/ wastegate, above upgrades, and a fuel system, also some 60 hp injectors. possibly the 110s. Can you guys think of anything Im forgetting? |

sucks they deny your warranty, I'm guessing your tuned? Did they say anything about that?

If that were my project then I would go with a new intercooler and tubes as well. Just my .02

tuning he was running doesn't matter. He was running nitrous and i'm sure he'll tell us all he dogged the crap out of it.

![]() ![]() ![]() Still sucks to be broke. Hope you get it back together quick and for sure going to be better off, even if a little lighter in the wallet. Can't blame Ford for denying that one either. |
