? about egr delete

Is it worth the time and money to do this if I don't plan of making this a race truck or sled pull truck? I want to do more stuff to the truck just because I love speed and it's pretty cool beating mustangs and other sports cars in races (on race courses of course) so I have plans of doing more stuff but not looking at making 700 rwhp or anything like that. So is it worth it?

i did mine today, people on here have told me how it didnt work out for them but my uncle builds drag boats down in florida and does custom tuning for duramax( yet it is a different engine) told me its something you definately wanna do , and i took his word for it, hope it turns out well.

Are you referring to a full delete with wastegate or just block off plates? The block off plates aren't good for much other than safety for if the EGR coolers were to bust. The downside of them is much greater than the upside in my opinion. You are more likely to blow head gaskets with them in than you are to have an EGR cooler rupture without them.

Now what do you mean you did yours? Did you do it yourself or paid someone? If so how much did everything run you?

good buddy own a shop , we kind of throw eachother work so i havent gotten total billing, i stayed around and helped him out, but he did the dirty work, im the electronic and performance guy, hes the installer hahha,, and i just have the block off plates for now.

By taking off the whole egr stuff, does it make the truck or motor more realible?

I don't know. I just did the egr block off and the trucks perfect. Just make sure u do it right so u don't have an exhaust leak.
