Cleaning S&B filter

My air filter is due for a cleaning. Do you have to yank the whole cold air intake out? I dont see how you would just pull the filter out of the box. Whats the best way to get the filter out?

Cleaned mine yesterday. I had contacted S&B and they sent me both of the updated rubber boots. They were both just a millimeter or two difference in diameter, but it made all the difference in the world! Put it back together in no time...just try to keep from taking the box out.
