Everyone says they hear the turbos more with AFE then with S&B. I've read the install is easier with the AFE as well.

The install and cleaning of the AFE is much better than the S&B. Either one you can't go wrong with, but I am extremely satisfied with my AFE with the PG7 filter

i love mine i had one on my 7.3 too awesome quality. i had a banks intake on my 6.4 at first then it was brought to my attention there filters are made by K&N so next time i cleaned it i held it to the light and sure enough i had some little holes in my filter. ordered my AFE the next day!

You will hear more turbo whistle with the AFE as they use an open box design. It is a great next step for you, especially if you plan on bumping up the power some.

I put my afe s2 on a couple of weeks ago, i love it. But, for those of you who have put on an aftermarket intake what is the rubber hose that leads back by the turbo for? The one that is curved and goes into the front of the airbox? The afe has a place to put that back into but do i need it? Does it do anything?

Any thoughts?

I just put my afe pro guard 7 intake on. It was a piece of cake putting it on, good directions and easy to follow. And yes you can hear the turbo whistle quite a bit. That black hose is for the cold weather. I left mine there since the afe has a place for it.
