Spartan and Smoke

I have a new F350 (couldnt pass up the deal and better interior) and just put the spartan 210 tune and cat/dpf delete on it. I have yet to go up to the 250 as i am waiting for my intake to arrive. I used to have a 06 cummins with just a smarty and straight pipe and it would BLACK out intersections if I wanted it to. My question is will the 6.4 ever smoke like a cummins? Will bumping it up to 250 make it smoke more? Also will putting a 5 inch straight pipe make it sound more like a diesel and less like a blow dryer?

I am not so sure if the 6.4l will smoke as much as a cummins with a smarty, but i have seen some that smoke a lot. As for the exhaust i think i read some where that a person moved up to a 5 inch to get rid of the hair dryer noise and it worked.

The 250 tune will smoke when you stomp it, but cleans up fairly quickly. If you want smoke then I suggest purchasing the 275 and 310 tunes. As for the exhaust note, yes it will get better with the 5" exhaust, but its still going to have that blow dryer sound to it at idle and part throttle. The best combo is a 4" downpipe and a 5" downpipe back exhaust.

do dpf back exhausts sound any diff since your removing the muffler?

I cant seem to find a 5" dpf/cat delete....Do they make these?

the only 5" set ups i could find is filter back systems.. every full system i seem to see is 4"? idk

Rudy's Diesel Performance has 5" DPF/CAT delete pipes. DPFDeleteKits.com. There are also full 5" Flo-Pro exhaust systems, and 5" Flo-Pro DPF/CAT deletes.

Just search the vendor websites, or give them a call. There are several options for 5" on these trucks.

i just installed a 4" down pipe and a cat/dpf for 5" after market and it goes into a 7" single stack. i still have the blow dryer sound (but it sounds great) you can hear the second turbo kick in and out at idle sounds great. as far as the dpf delete size i ordered from Aaron at dpfdeletekits.com and i got the biggest they offeredand its 5" except for about the firt 12" is 4" hope this helps

That is the EGR your hearing at idle.
