To Void Or Not To Void?

hey guys, i am thinking about getting a tuner for my 08 but not sure if i am ready to void the warrantee.. are these trucks reliable with tuners? will i be ok with tunning with my dpf? and a local diesel performance shop sells sct products and wants me to get the livewire are they good? can a dealer tell it was there if i take it out? sorry for all the questions just very curious as to what i should go with.

I am in the same boat, but I am VERY close to pulling the trigger on a spartan kit. Everything I read, the stock setup seems to cause more problems than the spartan. I feel I have less of a chance of a problem with a tuner/delete.

Getting rid of the DPF and adding the Spartan tuner would be the best thing you could ever do for your truck!

I have 32 thousand miles on the truck now. I'm not really worried bout the warrantee because spartans are hard to trace but I am worried about the dpf isn't it really illeagal? And how risky is it to drive around with it off? Thanks guys

Would do it in a heartbeat if I were you (never did on my truck not understanding what was to come back in Sept. 07'). Pull the trigger and dont look back.

most dealers will not know you had one if you put the stick file in before and work. but a real good tech can tell just by digging a little deaper. I would go to diff dealers and ask if they are mod friendly some are some aren't

if i leave the dpf on and get the spartan i heard it takes away regen and just blows out the soot? is this true?

Negative. You can't run the DPF with a DPF delete tune. We have 4 DPF on tunes, but it will still regen.

with those tunes on the dpf does it still wake up the truck? and im mainly going for mileage but if i am in the throttle it will just regen more? thanks for the info!
