pro's and con's of blank-off plates

I'm thinking about putting EGR blank-off plates on my 6.4 is there anything i need to be worried about when doing this as far as it hurting my truck. I already order a SCT and down pipe back exhaust.

08stroker so if you put the blank off plates in we should install some sort of waste gate or is the plates a waste of money and go with a full delete with waste gate.

most tunes and most high hp tunes turn off the egr under throttle anyways, the valve then functions normally at idle only

It just increases back pressure, but not to the point of being destructive.
