Limits on towing with 250 tune???

Hey guys, curious to know if there is a "weight limit" to towing with a race tune? I.E. 250 tune. Reason is, this weekend I pulled our 34' fifth wheel using the 210TP. Pulled awesome, but wasn't real impressed with the mileage. Only averaged 9.5 pulling!

I even ran it easy, tried to stay around 65 mph the whole time. Would it be worth pulling with the 250 next time? I know to "watch the temps" just like the idea of having all the safeties built in. BTW, the DD with the 250 is great! In case it matters, camper weighs in around 11,500 to 12,000 lbs fully loaded. Thanks guys

Really, the only thing that hurts you is not having the safety features with the 250 tune. As long as you watch your temps and what not like a hawk, you should be fine.

Thanks Jeff. Do you think I would increase MPGs towing with the 250? Or will there not be that much difference in them? Just curious why it wasn't any better....

What gears are in your truck? The 250 might help and its always worth a try.

I have 3.55 gears in it. Drop in AFe PG7 filter.

I wonder if having the 3.55 gears is actually hurting you on the bottom end while towing.
