1000 mi already in the shop
Picked up a 2010 drove it home had it 24 hrs from the time I picked it up flew to albaqurque to get it drove home 450 miles no problems even got around 14.8 mpg then next day buddy took it for a drive was gone 5 min heard some ticking pinging under the hood pulled over to see wtf popped the hood and then it died and woulnt even crank wtf towed home let it sit for a few hours went to get my trailer to take to the dealer it started ran real rough and white/blueish smoke out the exhaust has 1000 miles on it ,what happed any ideas?

My guess is bad fuel. Water.

ran threw 1 full tank that the dealer filled then I just filled at a friends store that has the best and cleanest fuel in town always take care of there tanks and only drove 20 miles on that tank when she broke

Sounds like wrong fuel type to me. Like maybe gas and not diesel?

Exactly what I was thinking. Did you some how fill up with unleaded fuel instead of diesel??

Or is it possible that the "station" fills their diesel tanks with lower cetane ratings then what the truck wants? (state law varies so much, there is no national standard for cetane ratings, just sulfur)

FAIL. LOL it wouldn't be the first time a new diesel owner put gas in his new truck.

The biggest problem comes when it's time to pay the bill. This is not covered under warranty, and could cost as much as $8000 to fix.
