Air intake question

So the first thing I want for the 08 6.4L will be an air intake. Which system filters as well as stock and wont set off any check engine lights? Will I see a bit of a MPG improvement?

S&B is the most reliable when it comes to not setting a CEL. If it does set a CEL they will replace the intake from what I hear.

Could you make a homemade intake on these trucks? I did on my dodge and it worked like any of the $400 peices. Just gotta make spots for the two sensors to go in on this truck as my dodge only had one sensor i had to put back in.

Not sure. The truck isnt here yet so I will have to check it out. I made one for my Dodge Cummins as well and it seems to work great. No sensors in that year though.

I have a Banks Air Intake on mine with NO codes thrown.

I have an S&B. Works great with my Spartan tuner and after 10,000 kms of relatively dusty conditions, there is no dust past the filter.

Ya the s&b is perfect without a tuner.

from what I've read and researched, the S&B throws the least amount of codes.
