Exhaust advice....
I am getting ready to install my lift finally... and I think I am going to redo my exhaust while I am at it. I am currently running a 4 inch full delete into Magnaflow 4 inch Duals with 5 inch tips. It sounds okay.. and maybe great for a 6.4. But I want something different. I am thinking of going to a full 5 inch single with a 6 inch tip.
I want something as aggressive as I can get. I know it will never sound like a 6.0 but in your opinions whats the best sounding set up to do. I am also going to be installing a new downpipe... I am not sure if that will give me much or any sound improvement. Just give me opinions guys and what you think is the best sounding. |

5" is the best sounding I have ever had on my truck. I have had 4" turbo back, 4" turbo back in to a stack, and 5" downpipe back with the stock downpipe. The 5" sounded the best.

thanks Jeff. is there going to be a pretty noticable difference? I mean I have spent some pretty good money on this set up, but if its going to be a difference I will do it again. How exactly does the 5 sound?
Thanks a lot man. |

I can't compare it to your current setup because I have never ran duals on my truck. The 5" has a deeper rumble to it at idle and a much more aggressive, throaty note at WOT in comparison to the 4" single exhaust I currenty run.

thanks a lot Jeff. It looks like I will be doing the switch over. I mean bigger is better right? In most cases!!
