6.4 egr delete
anybody done a egr cooler delete on a 6.4 got any input. I have a 2010 350 6.4 and in 2 weeks with 4000 miles on it Im doing it. I have a 2004 6.0 I spent 15000 on (went out of warrantee on time not miles) and ford only picked up a part of the bill for the 8 months in and out of dealer for looseing antifreeze, it was a nightmare. I dont want warrantee issues but fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me . Is how I see it now. I have a sct and a 4 inch ss turbo back complete delete and it is a different truck. Im hopeing for the same with egr delete!!

The EGR delete is a good investment as long as it's done right. You will need a system with a wastegate.

You can delete the coolers without a wastegate. Dirty Diesel has an EGR cooler delete for around $400 I believe.

elites is 300 w/out a wastegate according to thier new website

I tried to get a theard on Dieselgarage about all the egr deletes that were available, what the came with, how much, people were trying to get vendors in, posible group buys ect It it just failed big time.. i don't get it. Alot of people want these parts, everyone needs to come out and say what all there kits have!

So what are the advantages.....or the disadvantages of not having the wastegate???I would a system that was a little more money up front might be better in the long run if they are needed.

I have no idea how egr delete would work without a wastegate! John at Rudys have you done a 6.4 delete and did it make a big difference?

John has done quite a few as a matter of fact. And yes, they will make a huge difference. These truck will make a lot of boost and in return make a LOT of back pressure. The wastegate is just simply needed on the bigger tunes.....even if studs are in the truck. |
