Question Installed B&S Intake...got DTCs

I installed the S&B Intake today, reloaded the 250 Tune (Spartan), and away I went. I began the TCM relearn process. When 0-65 WOT truck falls on its face when shifting around 3rd. Either 2-3 or 3-4. It's like it shuts down and picks back up and goes. Read codes and two DTCs popped up. I cleared the codes and read the codes again and no codes. I rev up the RPMs in park (enough to blow a little black smoke) and read the codes again and the same two codes popped up. These are the codesexactly what it says)

Mil Statusis OFF
DTC Code = PO284 Cylinder 8 Contribution/Balance
DTC Code = P1000 OBD Systems Readiness
Test Not Complete

What does this mean? Is it hurting anything to run the truck with these codes? The codes only show on the diagnostic if I get in it a little. Didn't do it before the intake or relearn process.

You have a problem with #8 cyl. Is your truck a job 1? Are you under warranty? You may have an injector going bad.

Truck is job1. Is under warranty. Should I wait until goes out cometely before taking it to dealer? Don't know if codes will pop up when back stock. Don't want to go back stock for nothing.

I'd go back to stock, let it go thru a regen, then take it in and say it feels like it's running rough and someone said you should do a contribution test on it. If you wait for it to fail, you will need a new motor.

It has not thrown any codes today. Haven't really gotten in it though. Just drove to work. Revved up engine in park a little (puffing black smoke) and still no codes. Truck has never run rough, other than falling on it's face yesterday when 0-60 WOT. Will haveto wait till this weekend to go back to stock. Should I still take it in if no more codes?

Still no codes. Coul it just have been the truck getting familiar to the tune? I got in it pretty good waxing a buddy's Duramax at a red light this evening. Ran codes on the DashDaq and 0 DTCs. Should I still be worried about an injector?

What John said ^^^^

You need to get it to the dealer. Put it back to stock ASAP and get it in. Cylinder codes are not flukes usually.

I've noticed you've have said you've got a B&S a few times. Unless a new brand is out I think you are running a S&B intake, not a B&S. Not a big deal just thought you might like to know for future reference.

I thought he might not be happy with the intake and did it on purpose.

My bad...I get turned around 1000 things running through my head. It is S&B and I am happy with it. I must have had a lot of BS running through my head. Thanks
