Just put on a 5" exhaust.. but i have a ????

Ok so last night i put a 5" exhaust on my 6.4.. This morning on the way to work the dash said exhaust filter cleaning and it was smoking all the way to work. Has any one else had this problem? Do i need something to flash my ecu so it doesn't do this?

Yes, you will need to install some sort of tuning device to shut down the regeneration procedure. There are numerous options out there anywhere from $500-$1500 and 0-345hp gain! You wont regret it!

Ya I want the Spartan but i don't have the money.. so does this mean its going to smoke the whole time until i get a tuner or only when it thinks its cleaning it self?

Save a few bucks and get the H&S XRT. If you're not wanting 300+HP it will work great for you. If you give H&S a shot you won't regret it. They are top notch!

you could always do something like this: 2008-2010 Ford 6.4L XRT Race Tuner

if not i suggest putting your stock exhaust back on until you can afford to get a tuner to turn off the regen

Thanks for the link but i think i will have to put my stock exhaust back on for now and just save up for the spartan
