Truck broke down. Waiting for toe truck.

So I'm waiting for the tow truck.

I put diesel 10 minutes before the truck turned off and now just turns over.

3.256 miles on the truck. I do t beat on it.

I assume it's related to the fuel I just pumped. I'm sure I put diesel because there was no gas at the pump and I found it odd.

I assume it's water? Local service manager said he won't black list me unless a ford rep requires it.

If it's not water maybe the tank had gas in the tank instead of diesels.

And it's a tow truck I'm waiting on. Dam phone! lOL

I assume the diesel I pumped at the Hess station was bad or that there is excessive water in the hess' tanks. Worse case is THEY had gas in the tanks instead of diesel. I guess I'll find out soon.

I hope you got a receipt from the Hess Station and the dealer doesn't give you a hard way to go. Hope you get it back soon and it's something easier than fuel/water issues.

Well I got picked up and we stopped at the Hess. The regular gas nossle is on a stand alone pump and has a green label.

I pumped GAS instead of diesel. Can someone tell me of I simply drain the tank and refill it with diesel? Do I have to take it to the dealer?

Drain the tank, change the filters, let all of it drain from your lines. Fill with diesel, prime the system, and hope for the best.

John, any tips on draining the system? Is there a valve somewhere?

So, what was the out come of this? Did the gas hurt the engine at all or does it just ruin your filters.

My dad did the same thing to his 08. They flushed the fuel system, changed the fuel filters, and put diesel fuel in it with a fuel additive/conditioner to help clean everything up on the inside. Runs like it did before he put the gas in it. I think it was about 10 gallons he put in it.
