Lie-o-meter

I'm wondering what the relationship is between the Lie-o-meter and the Spartan/Dashdaq unit, if there is one. I have heard in other posts people saying that "mpg readout is really off on such&such tune". So does the spartan change the calculations of the mpg readout?

Second part of my question, if I could get some folks to weigh in here: What tune do you run, and how far off is your lie-o-meter from hand calculated mpg?

When I run the 275 on the Hwy my LOM reads 26.5 = 19.5 hand calculated
In town LOM 16.8 = 12.4 hand calculated

I reset the LOM every time I fill up

What diameter are your tires?

On a recent highway trip (about 150 miles round trip) my LOM was up to 33.5 LOL! I am running an H&S Hot Damn tune set on Hot.

The Spartan tuner does nothing with the dash read out (lie-o-meter). If anything, putting a tuner on the truck (any of them) will cause the dash read out to be much higher than before the truck is tuned. Hand calculations are the only way to really get a GOOD reading.

my lie o meter used to show 20mpg on the highway with my sct extreame street tune. now it shows 17 on the spartan 250 tune. I gota admit im very disappointed with the spartan tune. even hand calc i lost mpg going spartan and the power isnt good compared to the innovative sct tune. id try the 275 tune but i cant justify spending 300 more for 25 hp unless it was a huge difference. i may be going back to sct...

Mine stays at about 28.5 but I am getting 16-17 hand calc in mixed city and hiway. If I could just keep my foot off of the go pedal I know it would do better LOL. I haven't had a full tank on just hiway driving yet, but feel that it will better than 20 on the hiway.

You would be VERY surprised at the power gains, and probably the fuel mileage gains with the 275 tune. If you can't justify the $300 cost for that 1 tune, get the 275 and 310 tunes for $400. That is much more justifyable. The torque converter lock up on those tunes makes them so much sweeter than the 250 tune IMO.
