Buying a used spartan... is it worth it?

My friend is selling me a dashdaq XL monitor... but he says since it was used on his truck i cant use the same tunes on mine, is this true because he is selling me it and an AFE stage II dry filter intake for 800 bucks. He said he also bought it with the 275 horse power tune. He bought this from cobbs diesel performance.

u will there 325 bucks, and u will have to pay 300 for the 275 tune if u want it. no way around that. 325 gets u the new license and the tunes up to 250, i just got mine, takes a few days for them to get the license too
