AFE vs. S&B CAI
I called one of the vendors on here today asking about pricing for a Spartan DPF delete kit (hoping to get a deal better than the one on their web site). When discussing CAI's, they recommended the AFE PG-7 over the S&B. Is the AFE really $50 better than the S&B?
Another quick question... Should I go oiled or dry? |

I had ordered an S&B for mine.. Went to install and the boot that hooks the tube to the turbo I thought was really crappy.. didn't completely go on the turbo nipple and the way it's shaped it doesn't hold the clamp really well. Should have been about 1/4" longer and had a shoulder on it to hold the clamp. Going to be getting the AFE PG-7 and see how that works out.

S&B Works don't get me wrong. But as what was said above it is a pain in the *** to install and clean.
Wasn't worth the price difference to me. Go with the pro-guard7 filter |

My AFE sounded good when I had it on.

How about a AFE with a lesser filter then the pro guard-7?

I went with the AFE with the standard 5-layer oiled filter. I didn't like the way the S&B installed, plus it looked like the filter would be a pain to remove when it came time to clean it.

1 more for the AFE. Easy to install and maintain. I wouldn't skimp on the filter either, get the best one now or hate your cheap mistake later.
