RCD TUNE UPDATES
I have been running RCD's 485 since July and loved the power and shifting. In December I finally recieved the update for my tune. It is version 6 from what I can tell.
The shifting on the update is phenominal. Firm and precise. No searching, no over revving like what would occure the odd time with the previous tune. They hit this one bang on.
However, I noticed a few differences and was wondering if anybody else running this tune also noticed this.
Fuel MPG gage on the truck is way out to lunch now. Before 16.5mpg on the gage worked out to about 18mpg hand calc. Now 17mpg on the guage is more like 15 if i am lucky and it will read 22mpg if i rested it on level highway at cruising speeds yet i know its not anywhere near that.
The boost seems to build a lot quicker but the power doesn't seem to be there. If I roll into it at 100 boost will go up over 40 but it doesn't pull as hard as the old tune.
There seems to be a lot more drone in the cab at 100-110 which wasn't there with the old tune. Seems like the motor is working harder.
I got beat by a duracrap playing around the other day. I had it matted. I broke loose in 2w4 and suspect that traction control kicked in which is why I lost...But it was closer than i expected. Even tuned I was told I should still be able to take most truck on the street no problem.
I am convinced maybe I got the 450 tune. I figured originally it was just the tranny shifting was that much better hiding the power but even the ex commented that something was wrong with the truck and she didnt know i had gotten a new tune.
