SCT Questions

I have the SCT Livewire. I've been going back and forth between the Extreme tune and the Performance tune. I've noticed with the Performance tune that I run higher fuel rail pressures, boost and EGT's. The Extreme tune numbers are lower. I don't believe higher EGT's are good but, in general, what are good numbers for boost and rail pressure and what tune is better for my truck? I'm more concerned with economy then running a great 1/4 mile.

The extreme tune will yeild the best mpg, it does better than my custom tunes and all my other canned tunes in the mpg department. Though all trucks react differently thats what gets the best mpg in my truck.

SCT

Do lower EGT's, fuel rail pressure and boost translate to better mpg's and longer diesel engine life?

The extreme tune will typically get the best mileage. I have never monitored with SCT canned tunes so I am not sure about that part. I always tell customers to use the extreme tune other than when they are towing.

SCT

A couple more questions. What tune is recommended for towing a boat (4k lbs) and do you all provide a better mpg tune for the SCT?

All of our SCT custom tunes come from Eric @ Innovative diesel. I have not tested the MPG on his tunes but some of his customers can chime in. With 300+ HP tune, its hard for me to drive easy.

You could tow 4K on any tune, just tow with your brain. I would not pull much more than that with the extreme tune though.

Thanks bro! I think he already called. Did you take him for a ride in your truck?
