DPF SUCK MY TAIL PIPE ! IM A BELIEVER !

Im sure there have been alot of threads like this. But I went from stock, to a sct getting 11mpg avg mostly highway with the dpf. I just took the dpf off.... OMFG ! I went with a 4 inch flo pro and its is amazing ! Im running a older river city diesel tune right now and the truck is like I jumped into a sports car. It drives so much smoother now, it honestly makes the truck feel like before the dpf delete it was running on 4 cyl miss firing .

Why they put those STUPID things on these trucks is beyond me. i look a the lyometer and its showing 18mpg avg with highway driving and some city romping on it every so often.

I just want to commend flo pro , sct ect for making these trucks a ton better to drive and getting them the way they SHOULD be before the government stuck there hand in and ruined them.

I am still running the stock intake so Im sure I need to get one very soon. Other then that im very impressed. To all wondering if they should do it. dont wonder do it u will be insanely happy you did . Im just upset I didnt do this months ago.

Sorry for the rant I just had to say WOW

I have a 2008 with the same setup and I just checked my mileage and I got 12.1 mpg on the last tank. Did you remove the CAT also or just the DPF?

4" Flo-Pro would most likely mean that he has the DPF and Cat removed.

Removing the CAT would be an issue when it comes to inspection time. I am in VA and we have a state inspection every year without the CAT no one will inspect it. Is that the reason for the better MPG?

Hmm, I figured they would inspect the dpf too if they are inspecting the doc.

On an 08 and up model, visual inspection will be looking for the DPF as well as a DOC (Cat). Since it is one long unit, if they see a little short section they will think something is up most likely.

lucky for me that the inspections here can be handed to you with a sticker

Texas is pretty easy to get those .

As for the flo pro its no cats, no dpf, and may play a factor to better mpg. also depending on the tunes.

Side note, anyone know if im running the stock intake with race tunes is it going to suck? I was told its going to clog the intake and you have to keep reseting it.

AGREE!

I had an 08 6.4 getting 9/11 MPG.. I took it to Cobbs Diesel Performance and had AFE dpf/cat delete with SCT touchscreen xtreme installed. Now im getting 17/19 mpg and its smooth as pie! Those guys know thier sh*t about diesels and i will definately use them for all of my stuff! I do have an AFE stage 2 intake. Its a must with race tunes!

The DPF is junk and not only does it hold the truck hostage on MPG and horsepower, its causes backpressure thats really bad for the longevity of the engine. Oh and BTW dont even attempt a programmer/tuner without doing dpf delete. It wont do anything at all!!!! it will just put more junk in the DPF anf then not let it regen(clean itself). This is even worse than bone stock bc it will stop up the DPF rob even more MPG and HP and cause even more back pressure. DPF delete and tuning is a must!!!! Totally different truck!

the guys at Cobbs get big props!
