Just installed Black Maxx

I just installed the Black Maxx and H&S dpf/cat delete today on my '09 F 250. I can't quit smiling while driving my truck! Install was pretty straight forward and the delete pipe fit great! Only thing that I'm not completely satisfied with yet is the transmission shifting. It seems to get better and better the more I drive it though. Just sometimes it seems to miss a gear then shifts real hard and have to get over 60 before it shifts to overdrive. I just am using the firm shifting now, have not updated to the race shifting. My truck is on the stock 20" wheels and tires.

did you do the trans relearn? My understanding is you need to do this to get it shifting correctly.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance I'm kinda a newbie to all this! I have not done the trans relearn, not exactly sure how to do it. All of you were right though, these trucks will flat out run!

There is your erratic shifting problems. Need to go through H&S's re-learn steps to make that thing shift right.

It's easy, once the new tunes are installed:

1. 0-60mph at 1/4 throttle, then come to a stop.

2. 0-60mph at 1/2 throttle, then come to a stop.

3. 0-80mph at full throttle, then come to a stop.

All should be done in the HOT tune...

You need to do three series or runs.1 0-60 1/4 throttle 1 0-60 1/2 throttle and 1 0-80 full throttle. Make sure to come to a complete stop each time. I did 3 0-80 runs just to make sure. Once you do that the shifting is spot on. You made a great choice in the H&S. Their service can't be beat by anyone.

Do I need to do anything on the monitor to do the re-learn or just do the three runs on the hot setting and the tranny automatically relearns itself? Thanks everyone for all the help sorry for all the questions! Yeah I absolutely love the Black Maxx so far! I can already see fuel mileage is going to be a lot better, look forward to hand calculating a tank!

Sounds good, keep us up to date, the trans relearn is very important no matter what tuner you run. I would also suggest the Race Shifting if your going to be running on Hot alot.

There are alot of great vendors on here but I use James @ Rollin Smoke Diesel. His service can't be beat and he is the #1 dealer for H&S in the U.S.
