Looks like I have to crawl under the truck and put my DPF/DOC back on for my annual inspection sticker. Someone where I bought the SCT Kit, told me that it should pass without doing that because they fool the truck's computer by altering the data from the sensors.

Hi Jim,
Glad to hear you like our tune. The DMV will be checking for emissions codes on your truck. The SCT tune should not throw any codes, since we re-calibrate the sensors and make them read in the normal range. You should be fine for you inspection.

My Ford Diesel Mechanic is "Mod Friendly" and told me to bring it to him first so I wouldn't get a Rejection Sticker. We tested it this morning and it got a "Catalyst Not Available" error and an "EGR Not Available" error. It's funny, I still have my EGR and even told the SCT that I still had it. Anyway, I have to go back to stock for a stinking sticker - a lot of work for a 15 minute test. I guess after having driven it for the last 5 months, it has definitely been worth a little aggravation! Just a heads-up to anyone else heading for DMV/RMV Inspection...

ya Jim mass does a plug in obdII test on the 08+ trucks so it will fail since it will be checking for that. im an inspector

waiting to see if something is sent about smog. last i heard CA was starting this b.s. in 2010.
do you have to do it every year?

Thank you... yeah, it was worth a shot. They told me they wouldn't charge me to look at it before doing the official inspection. I think I'll probably put her back to stock on Friday and maybe leave it that way until the weather breaks. It'll give me time to decide if I've had enough FUN yet and whether to go back to delete mode or not! I never really tried the SCT "DPF On" tunes - I'll try them out and decide in the spring!

I'm also in Mass and was wondering if anyone knows if Spartan's tunes will suffer the same fate for a Mass inspection...

I would love to not have to put the DPF/DOC back on.

Heya Jim, bit off topic, but I have a bridge I can sell ya if your interested, should pass all inspections site unseen.

Seriously, good luck with the test, let us know how it goes. One thing that pisses me off is that supposedly they floor the pedal (rev it to the moon) to do a visual smoke inspection. I'm waiting for the day that test blows an engine on someone and what kind of fallout it gets.

Yes. You will need to revert it back to stock for the inspection just like for warranty work.

in mass on the 08+ it gets plugged in not a snap test i think only 08 450 up get snapped
