6.4 Newbee needs help

I just purchased an 08 powerstroke and it came with a complete (off-road) pipe, and a regular edge with attitude not the off road version. my question is dont I have to be running a tuner that has a program set up for the delete pipe. I just dont want to be driving the truck and the engine goes ive heard a couple bad stories.... Thanks in advance

So you bought it from someone like that? I would assume the truck has a DPF-R module if they have been driving it like that with no issues. Otherwise the truck would go in to regen and limp mode.

yes I bought it the other day like that. what is a DFR-R and what is the harm if the module isnt in the truck

Well, if the unit in the truck is an Edge Juice w/Attitude and not an Edge Race Evolution, then the DPF-R module would be used to shut of regen. They are not that great, but if its working then thats a plus. If the DPF has been deleted and there is nothing there to shut off regeneration then it is only a matter of time before the truck begins pouring out white smoke and goes in to limp mode.
