SCT Touchscreen Extreme Custom Programs
What are all the options for custom tuning for the SCT touchscreen Xtreme...who has the best tuining for these?
Im in the market for a new tuner and i can not make up my mind. Any input will help. TIA |

Eric has been tuning Powerstrokes longer than anyone else. He is king of the 6.0L but his newest 6.4 tunes are pretty new but people seem to be loven'em. They are putting down some kick a$$ track times as well. I'll be giving them a try in the near future.

Thanks, im really looking into the SCT tuner right now.....is there really any difference in the big name tuners?? or it just depends on the quality of the tunes.

It all depends on what fits your needs. I love my H&S. You don't have to mess with sensors and you have shift-on-fly. I put down 531/1116 with my Black Maxx. Spartan has a killer monitor and a 310 tune. SCT with Eric has bang for the buck. IMO H&S has by far the best service and I don't think that anyone has blown gaskets with it. With the Spartan you need the TCM to run the 275-310 tunes and gaskets seem to be going as of lately. The SCT is the kind of tuner that after you tune the truck you want to put it in the glove box and get some piller gauges. It's not very pretty IMO and looks a little cheap.

It depends on the quality of the tunes. The hardware doesn't really affect the way the thing operates. All it is there to do is allow you to tune the PCM. (Of course you can also use most products today as gauges too).
For the SCT, River City Diesel and Innovative are the two people to talk to about custom tunes. Spartan makes some of the best tunes available. Personally, I vote for Spartan. I've heard good things about the Black Maxx tuner too, but I am taking a wait-and-see approach to their supposedly safe change-on-the-fly tuning. People haven't been running them long enough to know if the change-on-the-fly will have long term effects on your transmission. |

People have been running some pretty hot Spartan tunes for a very long time, whereas SCT custom tuning hasn't been around as long comparatively. Nor has H&S. |
