Trans Update Pics

Hey guys. Heres the pics from the update. My trans is the suncoast out of my 05 so while it was out I converted the OD set to an 08 style. Heres the pics of the breakage and new parts minus the PTO exciter ring that bolts to the planetary set. First couple are the breakage. Going from the old 4 gear planetary to new 5 gear style.

I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.

First, is that a new FoMoCo intermediate shaft, or is it a Suncoast? The last time they I asked them it was still in engineering, and they didn't have them for sale yet.

Second, what book is it that you are using as a reference there? I have a Ford manual (don't like it much) and an ATSG that's pretty good. It wouldn't hurt to have another book on my shelf..

I am about to need a transmission in my truck (08 F350), and I want to do it my self. How important are the Rotunda special Torqshift tools? I see there are Rotunda tool kits on eBay for the Ford Torqshift, and i was thinking about getting one.

Thanks..

To me, I see it as cheap insurance.

The likelihood of me breaking an intermediate shaft = very small.
Cost of fixing god knows what when it breaks = waaay more time and trouble than I want to spend.
