Strange Sound Under Hood after AFE Cold Air and Spartan 210

Today was my big day and I installed my AFE Cold Air Intake, Exhaust, DOC/DPF Delete, and Spartan 210 tune, this things runs like a great but now I have a funny sound under my hood. It sounds like the sound is coming from the airbox when i get off the throttle. Not sure how to describe it but when it get's off boost it doesn't have a quick whistle like it used to now it is more of 3 or 4 whistles back to back over a couple of seconds.

Is this normal? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

It is completely normal. I don't remember the technical explanation, but I am sure someone will chime in. It is something to do with the boost has to go somewhere when you let off and back thru the airbox is the easiest route. I think that is what I remember someone saying. Mine has done it for over 16 months now with no problems.

look up about adding a blow off valve to a diesel and you will see for yourself. i cant explain everything. it is a huge pain because bov's need vacume, which diesels dont make.

I'm not exactly sure what causes the sound. I've heard its a good and bad thing, something about the turbo veins hitting the housing, or the turbine wheels stopping and starting causing the sound...but even stock my truck would "shutter" and cause a lower sound of the same noise when in regen so I can't see it being a bad thing if it were happening on a totally stock truck.

i didnt read that it did it within a few seconds, it should do it within at most one second, maybe it isnt a turbo fart.

it's probably not longer that 1 - 1.5 seconds, just not instant like preupgardes

and definitely not like a tea kettle, this is pulsated 2-3 times during that 1 - 1.5 seconds
