Spartan Tuner with no delete
What would happen if I were to install a spartan tuner and turn off the regen, but leave my dpf/cat intact on the truck? Would this just be a mild reduction in power or would the dpf start clogging up? Just curious in light of some recent concerns over be caught with out the factory equipment on the truck.

Someone else asked about doing this on the Spartan site, and it was "highly advised not to try". So........
As far as the technical reason.....dunno. But I would think the same thing you do, I would think it would clog the DPF filter real fast with all the soot. Then you turn the DPF back on and it would be all jacked up. |

spartan tuner
You can leave the DPF on up to the 150HP tune. I have been doing this for about a month now with no problems. I just got back form a 800 mile trip and no problems. The mileage is not any better with the 150 tune but the extra power is good. I will be putting my pipe back ins as soon as it warms up here is Houston.

There are 4 dpf on tunes included on the strategy flash tuner, 40, 75, 125, and 150hp........ You can run these with no problem!!! These tunes will let the truck regen as needed. But like everyone said without you can't leave the dpf on the truck and run a non regen tune. It WILL clog the dpf.

Broken/plugged DPF's at the dealer level are becoming hard to come by...Ford wants almost ALL of them back if it's warranty.
I think I've got ONE discard order on a DPF. |
