SCT and DD

I have an 08 with 6" lift and 37's. I have the SCT, magnaflow and dpf delete, and a stock airbox. I am not looking to race the truck so i was gonna leave it on the performance setting. I put the transmission setting on soft. I should be okay leaving the truck this way all the time correct? Or just leave it on tow? Sorry for the dumb questions, just wanna stay away from problems.

I would think you should be fine. Make sure that you have the tire size adjusted for your tires. 37's and tuners can be destructive to a tranny over time.

Do not leave it on "soft" setting! That is basically a stock trans setting which sucks for any performance tune! Not safe for your trans. Better to have it "firm" and safer in the long run! Just my two cents!

Believe it or not, I've been running the River City Diesel 485 Tune since I bought it in August and averaging 15mpg combined. About 2 weeks ago, I dropped down to the SCT Performance Tune because of the winter slop up here in New England and to see if I could get a little better mileage. Right away, I missed the additional power so much that I started driving it normal (easy). I drove it for 3 full tanks of fuel and my mileage did not change at all. When I filled up yesterday, I re-loaded the 485 tune - damned the torpedoes!

Mileage may have improved but remember that winter fuel is also cut with kero (usually 20-50%) and MPG will drop because of that also. Winter here in the Northeast also brings longer idle times and warm again hurting fuel mileage.

Basically "Stiff" - with the custom tunes, RCD sets up the transmission - I have the option to make individual changes for WOT shift points and shift pressure for each gear but that's it. It's stiff but NICE stiff, not harsh!

Hey Neighbor! I think I'm still doing an apples to apples comparison because the 485 mileage spec was based on 2 weeks ago and it was already cold up here. I just thought I'd give the 485 a rest and try the "Canned Tune" - it only took a day to regret going backwards. This morning driving to work on the 485 again, I think I smiled all the way to work!
