So im really interested in finding out more about the 6.4, and its horsepower capabilities. What all do you have done ? Have to HAVE done ? SPARTAN sounds like its the only place to get a tune, but what about trany's ? Are thay holdin up? Any dyno numbers ? Fuel mpg ? Ya know, the whole meal deal.

I know that Im very happy with my 6.4 but Im not running spartan tunes, I have river city tunes and they still have a ton of power, makes my OBS look weak. My trans seems to be holding up, only slipped once. It has dynoed 591 and 1130, that was back when my buddy owned the truck before I bought it from him. As for mileage, I havent got the best lately but thats cuase I havent had it long. lol

Wow, thats pretty cool ! Sounds like a lot of work, but a high 12 sec truck would be awsome !

Spartan is the choice to go with if your doing more than just a tune, intake, and exhaust. They can create a custom tune for anything you have. Trannys seem to be holding up very well on big tunes making 520+ horsepower. With the spartan 310 tune... a upgraded tcm is recommended... also avalible from spartan. For a cheaper option... you could go with sct with rcd or innovative tunes

You need the 310 tune, intake, downpipe back exhaust, and the driver mod

without swapping out hard parts(hpfp, injectors, turbos) the limit has been under 600hp, but not by much.

What all do you have done ?
my truck is simple, tuner, exhaust, intake.
Quote:
Have to HAVE done ?
if you want the bare minimum, a tuner and delete pipe are good for around 475hp

spartans tuners are by far the best. Its debatable on whether their tunes are the best or not as some of the other tuners are starting to look promising, but spartan does have the edge in time spent tuning.

as stated, the tranny's seem to be holding up to the 275 tunes. beyond that, its a crap shoot on how much torque converter slip you get.

do a search, there are 100's of threads on mpg and dyno numbers
